LEAKAGE OF NEWS

ATTITUDE OF THE LABOUR CONFERENCE. INJUNCTION TO DELEGATES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The leakage of unauthorised conference information to sections of the Press was again discussed by the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party yesterday. Delegateswere urged to keep private the business of the conference, and a committee was set up to supply information to the Press. One unofficial report states that after a long discussion on the issue of a document, reputed to have been written by Mr Lee, M.P., on the country's financial situation, and the Government’s financial policy, the conference carried a motion expressing confidence in members of the Parliamentary Labour Party. The conference decided on this course after debating a motion of condemnation of the publication of the circular, and an amendment that the matter be left to the national executive for action. The resolution is looked upon as an outward display of party unity, delegates holding that the passing of cither the original motion, tabled by Mr J. Purtell, or the amendment moved by the Minister of Education. Mr Fraser, might have precipitated a division within the ranks.
