LANSDOWNE SCHOOL

monthly meeting held LAST NIGHT. ANZAC DAY CELEBRATION. Mr H. E. Pither (chairman) presided at the monthly meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee, held last evening. There was a full attendance of members. Accounts amounting to £1 8s 9d were passed. Advice was received from the auditors of the annual audit of accounts and the committee was congratulated on the presentation of the school’s accounts. ’ . It was decided to ask the Returned Soldiers’ Association to provide a speaker for the School for the Anzac Day cererrtony, and the secretary was directed to make the necessary arrangements. The committee arranged for two extra speakers for the wireless and a gramophone pickup, so as to complete the installation throughout the school, also for a further two electric clocks to be installed, so as to give each room a clock. The grounds were reported to be in very good order. Topdressing and reseeding of the tennis and croquet lawns had been carried out and the board was being asked to make some arrangements for the levelling and sealing of the play area surrounding the school. . The committee had re-erected the bi-, cycle shelter for the school and this, together with all the outbuildings, had now been painted. Messrs Donovan and Fly were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing month.
