ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Masterton Methodist Ladies Social Guild, for the past year:—ln presenting to you the annual report of the Methodist Ladies Social Guild for the past year, we as a Guild give thanks to our Heavenly Father for His guidance in our work during that period. The beginning of the year brought many changes, our much revered president, Mrs F. G. Stockwell, left us for Hawera, our secretary, Mrs W. H. Judd, was unable to continue in office as were Mesdames Daniell and Drew. We were pleased to welcome to our Guild, the ReV F. J. and Mrs Parker. Mr Parker has throughout the year ably filled the chair at our meetings. Mrs Handyside has fulfilled the duties as treasurer and Guild tea convenor at every meeting. We were sorry to lose two of our most faithful members during the year, Mesdames Thomas and Wilden went to Nelson and Invercargill respectively. We are sure they are a gain to other Guilds. The Guild had the pleasure of welcoming the following new members: Mesdames Watson, Barnes, Brader and Lindsay. The thanks of Guild are proffered to the following ladies who received us into their homes and made- us most welcome. Mesdames Parker, Nicol, Daniell, and Saunders; also to the following speakers who gave inspiring and educational addresses, Rev F. J. Parkier, Mrs H. E. Pither, Miss O. R. Sutherland, M.A., and Nurse N. Cocker. Successful congregational socials were held on July 11, September 14, and November 15, a sale of goods being held on the latter date, the proceeds of which went to the Guild Pyramid Card effort. Two Bring and Buy afternoons were conducted by Mesdames Neilson and Daniell; Milne and McEwen. This report would not be complete without a word of thanks to the many ladies who assisted with our programmes, to the officers of the Guild, oUr accompanists and the social committee. A special vote of thanks is due to the Press, who have reported the meetings and other activities of the Guild faithfully and well. In conclusion we add our thanks to Mrs Elliott who prepared her grounds for the Garden Party, which through the inclemency of the weather was'held in the Sunday school also to all who assisted at that function. We trust that the coming year will be a happy and prosperous one for the Guild, and that our efforts may be abundantly blessed. The,report is signed by Rev Frederick jf Parker (president) and Miss Verna G. Jackson (secretary).
