CARTERTON

PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs E. Peters has returned from Christchurch. Miss Verna Irwin, Pembroke Street, who has been spending Easter at Waikanae, has returned home. Mrs P. Beere, Senr., of Wellington, is staying with Mr and Mrs P. Beere, Junr., Clifton Avenue. Mrs Frank Mooney, of Wellington, is a visitor to Carterton and is staying with Mrs O'Reilly, senr, Clifton Avenue. Mrs Meikle. of Wellington, has been spending a few days in Carterton, and was the guest of Mr and Mrs Phillip Beere. Mrs M. Boyne, who has been staying with Mr and Mrs Norman Boyne, returned to her h?me in Palmerston North on Wednesday. Mr and Mrs J. Fisher, of Clareville are at present staying in Eltham, where Mr Fisher will attend a meeting in connection with the Rennet Factory. Mr and Mrs Godfrey Stroud spent the weekend in the Wairarapa and were the guests of Mrs Stroud’s parents, Mr and Mrs J. Steel, Wyndham Street. Mr G. S. Bruce, of the Bank of Nev/ Zealand staff, left Carterton this morning on a holiday which is to be spent at Paraparamu, Mrs Bruce and family are already at the seaside. Word was received in Carterton yes--terday of the sudden death of Miss Bridgie Malone, of Hawera, youngest sister of Mrs W. Bird, of Clifton Avenue. She was twenty-one years of age. Mr and Mrs W. Bird left last evening by motor car for Hawera.
