MANAy/ATU TOURNEY. , RINKS WON BY PAHIATUA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., April 12. The Manawatu Bowling Centre’s Easter four tournament was won by a Pahiatua four skipped by R. Pilkington. The weather was again gloriotlsly fine and windless and the greens continued to play very fast. At the conclusion of play the winners and'runners-up were congratulated by Mr J. A. Nash, president of the Manawatu Bowling Centre. The tournament, said Mr Nash, had been one of the most successful in the history of the centre. Today’s results are: — Third round: Taylor, McCrae, Kershaw, Pilkington (Pahiatua), 14 v. McDonald, Stallard, Connor, Anderson (Manawatu), 13; Rosvall, J. Child, Mowlem, Ramsay (Palmerston North), 20 v. Pizzey, Usher, Colquhoun, Stableford (Palmerston North), 9; Moxon, Astle, Kershaw, Skoglund, 22 v. Cullen. Goodwin, Brighting, Naylor (Thorndon), 10; Howe, Player, Fraser, Roper (Lower Hutt), 20 v. Melton, Blake, Oxenharn. Mills (Manawatu), 10. Semi-finals: Pilkington 18 v. Skoglund 15; Ramsay 29 v. Roper 12. Final: Pilkington 20 v. Ramsay 12. In a play-off for third honours Roper beat Skoglund.
