WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT KAIPARORO. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kaiparoro Women’s Institute was held in the Kaiparoro Hall, Mrs C. Burton presiding over a good attendance of members. It was decided that a dance be held in June. A bring-and-buy stall was held to raise funds for the Institute, also a cake competition was held for the same purpose. The cake was made by Mrs Braddick and won by Mrs A. Falkner. A most interesting and effective demonstration of felt work was given by Mrs D. Fraser, of Eketahuna. The competitions for the month were won as follow:—Games: Miss R. Braddick. Pikelets: Mrs G. Dick 1, Mrs Jim Dick 2. Flowers: Miss B. Parry 1 (hydrangea), Miss M. Welch 2 (belladonna lily). Mrs Morris, of Hastwells, obliged the members with two. songs, these being most appreciated. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Dick and Wolland and Miss L. Braddick.
