MEETING OF MASTERTON BRANCH. RESIGNATION OF TREASURER. The monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society was held yesterday. There were present: Mesdames .1. Caselberg (in the chair). S. L. P. Free, R. C. Drummond, D. Donald, J. C. Broad, C. A. Carmine, E. Sortain-Smith. E. G. Norman, A. H. Falloon, A. F. Stewart, J. James, T. Jordan, W. A. Michael, A. Ericson, T. F. Watson, P. Nathan and T. W. Wardell. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames N. Irwin, H. Morrison, E. G. Eton and J. D. O'Connor.
Mrs Irwin’s resignation from the. position of hon. treasurer was received and the secretary was instructed to write and convey the following motion: “The committee accepts with great regret Mrs Irwin’s resignation from the position of hon. treasurer. It desires to express its deep gratitude for her excellent work over a period of six years and further, the committee wishes to tender to Mr Irwin, its very sincere thanks and appreciation of his valuable help in the work of the branch.” Accounts amounting to £44 18s 4d were passed. A letter was received from the secretary of the Tinui sub-branch announcing the date of its sale of work and extending an invitation to the committee to be present. A circular was received from the Dominion Secretary relative to the compilation of the annual report. The date of the annual meeting was tentatively fixed for Wednesday, June 14, and it was agreed to invite Dr. Helen Deem, medical advisor to the council, to address the meeting. It was decided to forward £lO to Karitane Hospital as the branch’s annual donation. Thanks for the donation of garments were recorded to Mesdames R. Keltie, H. P. Harrison, Hopkins, C. A. Cameron, W. Dalziell, R. Bunny, Coom and McQuade and the Women’s National Welfare League. The nurses’ report stated: —Masterton, visits to office, adults, 460; babies, ■415; pre-school children, 131; telephone, 175: total, 1181. Visits to homes, new cases, 36; old cases, 242; total, 278. New cases for month, town, 14; country, 6. Outstations: Blairk-gie, Whareama, Langdale and Tinui, 2 visits each; Homewood, Riversdale and Annadale,. 1 visit each; Kopuaranga, Mauriceville East, Hastwell and Mangamahoe, 2 visits each. New cases, 4; visits to new cases, 6; to Old cases, 30; total, 36. Prenatal section; New cases, 5; visits to homes, 14; return visits, 12; casual, 1, total, 32. .
