MASTERTON BRANCH MEETING. The monthly meeting held recently was presided over by Miss Tankersley. Several apologies for absence were received. Arrangements were made for a Paddy’s Market to be held in the Methodist Hall on Wednesday afternoon, April 19, commencing at 2.30 p.m. The Temperance Fact was supplied by Miss Jackson: “Is not the position almost farcical were it not so tragic? The Government says: ‘For a fee I’ll give you a licence to sell alcohol; then it punishes the motorist who drinks the stuff it has licenced the sale of.”
Mrs N. Miller presented her report of the Women’s Convention held -in Wellington during March, which was attended by over 130 delegates. Mrs Miller was accorded the thanks of the meeting for her interesting report. The meeting terminated with the pronouncement of the Benediction.
