ENJOYABLE GATHERING
MR -R.'WILTON’S EIGHTAIETH BIRTHDAY. COLLIE CLUB’S PRESENTATION. Last Thursday evening about 200 relatives and friends were entertained in the Municipal Social- Hall by Mr Robert Wilton on the 1 occasion of his 80th birthday. During the evening, Mr'J. M. James, on behalf of those present, congratulated Mr Wilton’ and wished him’continued good health. On behalf of the committee ■of the Masterton Collie Club; he presented Mr Wilton with a travelling rug, and also asked him t.o accept on behalf of his daughter, Mrs F. Simmons, who was married that evening, a beaten brass fire screen in appreciation of the valuable assistance they had rendered to the club. Mr Wilton suitably replied. At supper a beautifully decorated two-tier birthday cake illuminated- by 80 candles, wnich were extinguished by Mi-: Wilton and four of his smallergrandchildren, was cut by Mr Wilton to the accompaniment of rnusical honours. Dancing was continued untilmidnight, when a most enjoyable gath-’ ering was brought to a close; ■
