AUSTRALIA’S RICHEST FOOT RACE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. MELBOURNE, April 10. Australia’s richest foot race, the Stawell Easter Gift, was won by L. W. Sprague of Ballarat, off 9jyds. Two other Victorians, L. Dunn, off 9£yds and J. Davis, off 61yds, finished second and third. The race was won by a yard. The New Zealand farmer, Albert Gilmore, off 40 yards, won magnificently the Federation Handicap, of £l3O, one mile, by 25 yards. His time was 4.8 and four-fifths.
