BOY KILLED
TUNNEL IN BANK COLLAPSES. FATALITY AT WANGANUI. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, April 9. When a tunnel which he, with six other boys, was digging in a sandy bank on St John’s Hill collapsed, a boy was killed this morning. He was: Bruce Jenkins, aged 11, Harrison Street, Wanganui. Ten men took 20 minutes to recover the body. Drs H. D. Robertson and G. J. Adams applied artificial respiration for more than 45 minutes unsuccessfully. St John Free Ambulance men used artificial respiration till the arrival of the doctors.
