(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. At the end of the first eighteen holes of the North Island golf championship, Graham was 2 up on Glading. Play was right up to championship standard, Graham taking 72 and Glading 74. CONTESTS AT RIVERSIDE A most successful golf tournament has been held at the Riverside Club’s links during the Easter holidays. Favoured with fine weather, the contest has proved enjoyable in every way. Results are: — Easter championship: J. C. Bell beat Candy; S. Frankpitt beat D. Costello. Final: J. C. Bell beat S. Frankpitt 7 up. Easter handicap: G. Roff beat Leigh, Gordon Lee beat G. Murdoch. Final: L. H. Roff beat Gordon Lee. Riverside handicap: R. Wearne beat R. Wellington; H. Hill beat L. F. Gray. Final: R. Wearne beat H. Hill. Consolation handicap: R. Hatch beat Miller; Henshilwood beat Baker. Final: Henshilwood beat Hatch. J. C. Bell, playing good golf, won the chief event with an excellent round of 67 in the final.
