BOMBS OR EGGS.

(The Editor.) Sir, —The war news in general at the momenjt of writing is an indication that even a Christian community will shortly see its Easter eggs assuming the shape of bombs —at least to such of its members as have already faced the horrors associated with the last Great World War. The youth of our country will have little else (than Easter eggs) to meet a possible invasion of these our shores when the rain of real aerial eggs—as might easily happen—begins. We must stir up our defence programme more than it appears to have been, for even our Rugby teams are doing their bit of training to meet opposing forces; yet as for training to meet a foreign foe, “Oh Lor!” —I am, etc., ‘“OLD VOLUNTEER.” Masterton, April 8.
