Word was received in Masterton this morning- that Mrs H. Cornish, of Longbush, who had undergone an operation in the Bowen Street Hospital, Wellington, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery.

The many friends of Mr and Mrs R. E. James, of Masterton, will regret to learn of the death of their infant son, Richard Charles, which occurred on Saturday. The deepest sympathy will be extended to the parents in their bereavement. The funeral took place this afternoon.
