“NOTHING NEW”
CHAMBERLAIN’S STATEMENT “FROM THE BLUE”
ATTEMPT TO STIR UP UNREST.
COMMENT BY NAZI OFFICIAL NEWS AGENCY.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) BERLIN, March 31
Herr Hitler vzill make his speech at 4.30 p.m. tomorrow at the launching of the Voh Tripitz. The official news agency says it is incomprehensible how Mr Chamberlain can make such an announcement from the blue. Actually it contains nothing new. England and France were bound a year ago to stand by Boland in the event of armed attack. The statement may be regarded as a laughable attempt to stir up unrest and sew mistrust against Germany. It gives the impression that Britain only makes small powers believe she is prepared for action. The democracies have too often caused suspicion. They only make speeches of protests. Germany’s work of construction in Central Europe cannot be disturbed by theoretical statements.
