KIWI HOCKEY CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. SUCCESSFUL SEASON REPORTED. The annual meeting of the Kiwi Hockey Club (combined ladies and men’s) was held in the Kia Ora Club rooms last evening. There was a good attendance. .< .
The secretary reported that a very successful season had been experienced in 1938, both the ladies and men’s teams acquitting . themselves' exceptionally wellsin their respective competitions. The annual,report and balance sheet was read and adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted- as follows: Patron, Mr W. Brady; president, Mr E. R, Rogers; vice-presidents, Messrs C. C. Traill, J Arthur W. Davies, C. N. Cole, L. S. Nicol, A. N. Stubbings, J. Wing, J. Barnes, A. Allison, Dr. Berney and Mesdames H. H. Mawley and M. A. James; club captain, Mr H. Worthington; delegates to associations, Messrs A. Stubbings and R. Foster; men’s selection committee, Messrs R. Foster, A. Stubbings H. Worthington; ladies’ selection committee, Misses T. Cole, M Foster and M. Burns; cpach,. Mr A. Stubbings, hon. auditor, Mr W. Davies; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. Hawkins. It was decided to enter one team in the senior men’s and ladies' competitions respectively. . With the admission into the club of several new members prospects are very bright for the coming season. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman (Mr R. Foster) and the retiring officers.
