FRENCH PRESIDENCY

An all-party effort is being made to induce M. Lebrun to accept the presidency for a further seven years. The Versailles election will be held on April 5. ... M. Herriot, president of the chamber, himself, is refusing to stand, and tonight he accompanied the president of the Senate to urge M. Lebrun to accept the presidency for another term. He will probably make a definite reply in a speech at Montelemar on April 2.
