GERMAN PROPOSALS REJECTED

Colonel Miedzinski, the Senate Marshal, announced that Poland had rejected Germany’s proposals for a change of the sovereignty of Danzig the building of a German road acros: the Danzig corridor, also Poland’s adherence to the anti-Comintern Pact He adde.d that Poland was sufficiently prepared to deal with the situation. UNEASINESS IN DANZIG GERMAN TROOP MOVEMENTS REPORTED. BETWEEN BERLIN & POLISH FRONTIER. LONDON, March 29. There is great uneasiness in Danzig. It is feared that the local Nazis may make some move .with or without support from Berlin. In the meantime Warsaw is making an effort to prevent the slightest anti-German demonstration in any part of the country. Heavy German troop movements were reported last night between Berlin and the Polish frontier. LITHUANIAN STAND WILL DEFEND INDEPENDENCE. IN EVENT OF AGGRESSION. (Received This Day. 10.25 a.m.) KAUNAS, March 29. The Prime Minister, General Cernius said ’ Lithuania would defend her independence in the event of aggression. The new government intended closely to collaborate with the Balkan states. Internal reforms affecting the political regime could be expected but the rights of minorities would be respected.
