HOLLYWOOD ASSAULT
CINEMA ACTRESS ATTACKED IN STREET LITTLE CHANCE OF RECOVERY. OBSERVATIONS BY POLICE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) HOLLYWOOD. March 29. Delia Bogard, aged 17, the cinema actress who was recently cast in a romantic role opposite Jackie Cooper, was. attacked and probably fatally beaten about the head by a thug on the street early this morning. The motive apparently was criminal assault but the assailant is described only as a tall man in a grey overcoat. He was forced to flee by three women who were attracted .to the scene by Miss Bogard’s screams.
The police have pointed out- that the circumstances and method were almost identical with the murder of a Russian dancer named Anya Sosoyeva last month. They believe the assailant is the same person.
Miss Bogard has been admitted to hospital and is given only the slightest chance to recover.
