LIONEL BARRYMORE

WELL ON ROAD TO HEALTH. Although Lionel' Barrymore is so well on the road to health that he now can leave his wheel-chair and walk with sticks, he will continue to play his part in the “Young Dr. Kildare” series in a wheel-chair because hp started off in it. He is an amazjng man. Most other players would have given up under such a handicap, but Lionel refuses to give in, and, strangely, has played some of his best roles while he has been ill, as witness "You Can’t Take It With You” and “Dr. Kildare.” In both cases the crutches and wheel-chair were necessary. He is a victim of arthritis, and suffers terrible agony at times.
