WELCOMED BY TOWNSPEOPLE OF CHELLES.

At Chelles, close to Paris, the refugees have proved a good investment, and the townspeople have signed a petition calling on the authorities not to remove the colony to the south. Among the refugees were a number of specialists in the manufacture of woollen wear, and their activities brought prosperity to local tradespeople.
