BOWLING

BANKS & LAW MATCH. (Notes by “The Bowler’’) A most enjoyable match was played on the Masterton Club’s green yesterday afternoon, between teams representing the Banks and Law of Carterton and Masterton.

The result was a win for Carterton, by 21 to 11. The Carterton team played well and their driving was excellent.

An argument started as to the number of nips in a quart bottle of water, but as the matter became a little heated, “Robby, ’’ the Carterton man of order, soon quelled the disturbance.

On the sth head, the scores were. Masterton 1. Carterton 4. As the 10th head the score board showed Masterton 5, Carterton 8. Carterton had a 7 points lead on the 14th head, and the final results was Carterton 21, Masterton 11.
