OBITUARY
MRS L. A. SOLON. Widespread regret will be felt at the news of the death of Mrs Phyllis Solon, wife of Mr L. A. Solon, manager of the State Theatre at Masterton, which oc curred at the Masterton Hospital last night after an illness extending over the past three or four weeks. The late Mrs Solon, who was only married a few weeks ago, was the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. McCord, of Albert Street. Of an exceptionally bright and cheerful disposition, she was particularly well-known and popular with a host of friends in the Wairarapa. The deepest sympathy will be extended to Mr Solon in his sad bereavement and also to her parents and other relatives. She was 25 years of age and is survived by her parents, two sisters, Misses B. and J. McCord, of Masterton, and a brother, Mr T. McCord, of Tauranga. The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the Chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service, Church Street, at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
