RADIO TRANSMITTERS
MASTERTON BRANCH. FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. Mr E. J. Mannell . (vice-president) presided over a large attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Masterton branch of the New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters held in the club room last evening. The field-day committee reported on the highly successful field-day held at Mount Holdsworth on March 19. During the gathering which was held in conjunction with the Radio Emergency Corps, communication was established between outposts and a base by means of portable transmitters and receivers. In the morning the outpost proceeded to Donnelly’s Camp where perfect two-way communication was made. During the latter part of the day similar transmissions were conducted from a point several miles along the Mount Holdsworth track. The outing was voted by all to be the most successful and enjoyable yet held by the club. Members are asked to note that future meetings will commence at 7.30 o’clock.
