FEATHERSTON

CRICKET MATCHES. (“Times-Age” Special.) Two cricket matches were played on the Reserve on Sunday. In a game against Upper Hutt, a team from Masterton scored 123 in the first innings. Upper Hutt scored 33 in the first innings, and following on scored 127, a total of 160. Masterton, in the second innings scored 45 for 4 wickets, winning by 6 wickets. Petone Working Men’s Club beat the Royal Hotel team. The scores were:— Petone, 180 and 99, total 279. Royal Hotel, 66 and 66, total 132. The best scores were for Petone: Pegler 49, Fitzgerald 43, Douglas 32, House 23, Dunn 21, Winnie 21. For Royal Hotel: Erskine 20, 27, McDowell v l7, Loader 17, Sim 16. Euchre Party and Dance. There was a very good attendance at the Kahutara euchre party and dance held last Saturday night, when special prizes were offered in connection with the euchre games. There were many novelty dances. The winners of the euchre were:— Ladies: Mrs Riki, 1; Miss bimmonds, 2; Miss L. Matinga, 3; Mrs R. Williams, 4. Men: Mr Luke, 1; Mr Farley, 2; Mr Jepson, 3; Mr Corlet, 4. « During the evening Colin and Clive Thorn gave songs and tap dances which were much appreciated. Scouts in Camp. The Scouts were in camp at Rata Gully during the weekend, when they were engaged in training and passing tests in preparation for the Centennial Jamboree.
