MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BRANCH.

INFORMATION ABOUT EARLY DAYS’ DESIRED. A meetings of.; the, Wairarapa branch of the New Zealand Registered Nurses’ Association was held at the Nurses’ Home, Masterton, last night, the president, Miss Barnett being, in the chair. A meeting -of the council was held prior to the .general meeting. Also present were Mrs Marshall and Miss Higginson. (vice-presidents), - Mrs James, Misses Goodall, Hughes' and’ Kerrins (members of the council) and Miss Brown (hon. secretary). At the general meeting, Miss Goodall, who was delegate to the .annual conference of the New Zealand Registered Nurses’ Association, before reading her report, thanked the members of the association for affording her the opportunity of being present at the conference and for the privilege of representing the Wairarapa branch. She proceeded; to give an' interesting review of the discussions on the various remits and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her report. >. A's papers and materials were being prepared for the 1940 conference, subcommittees were appointed to gather information on early nursing in the Wairarapa. It is hoped that photographs of those performing nursing duties in the early days will be forthcoming; also of the first hospital/buildings in the Wairarapa. Supper was served at the conclusion of business.
