RESEARCH FACILITIES
ROYALTIES FROM PATENTS. OTTAWA. By means of royalties from patents on inventions secured by members of its staff, the National Research Council of Canada, a semi-Governmental organisation, picvides itself with a source of additional revenue that can be applied to more research. The council, whose members are selected from among men prominent in scientific work <jn Canadian universities and Canadian industry, has already filed applications for more than 200 patents as a result of discoveries made in its laboratories and workshops. These inventions are made available for use by industries under licence and on a royalty basis.
