GOLF CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Pongaroa Golf Club was held in the County Chaifibers on Thursday last. There was a 'very satisfactory attendance of members, the president (Mr A. M. Theed), presiding. The report and balance sheet showed a very healthy state of affairs. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— Patron: Mr R. R. Burling; president, Mr A. M. Theed; vice-president, Messrs L. Ballantyne, W. E. Davies, F. A. Meech, and L. Johnston; club captain, Mr P. H. Donovan; Hon Secretary, Mr F. H. Mayman; treasurer, Mr S. W. Eunson; handicapper, Mr A. M. Theed; Committee, Messrs Satherley, McGregor, Scott, Herbert, Eunson, Wilkes and Cowper. The secretary was instructed to arrange the annual home-and-home matches with Alfredton, Makuri, Horoeka and Tapuata clubs. It was decided to open the season at the next weekend.

CRICKET MATCH.

PUKETOI DEFEAT BUSH.

During the. weekend Puketoi played their return*game against the Bush representative team at Pongaroa,, and won by 114 runs on the first innings. The Bush made 93 runs.

B. Murch, 26; Gallon, 9; J. McKay. 21; Dungan, 12) and Puketoi compiled 207 (Butler, 90; Hislop, 16; Clements, 15; Stringfellow, 14; Smith, 13; Ewenson, 12; McGregor, 10; S. Raleigh, 10). Bowling for Puketoi, T. Harold took 7 wickets for 40 runs. Foi- Bush J. McKay took 6 wickets for 69.

Championship to Makuri. The Puketoi' Cricket Championship competition has been concluded with Makuri as the winners. The points are as follow:—Makuri, 14; Weber, 9; Horoeka, 9; Pongaroa, 7; Tiraumea, 5. Returned Soldiers' at Cricket. Last week the Puketoi Branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association played a match against a team from the Dannevirke R.S.A. at Dannevirke. The Puketoi representative cricket team selected to play Dannevirke seniors at Pongaroa on April is as follows: Butler, Stringfellow, Smith, Hislop, S. Raleigh, T. Harold, Clemens, MacGregor, C. Raleigh, Tylee, Ewenson; Gollan 12th man. Personal. Mrs V. Strachan was a guest of Mrs Scott Raleight, High Range, Tiraumea. for the weekend.
