ST. PATRICK’S CRICKET CLUB
ENJOYABLE SMOKE CONCERT. There was a large attendance at St Patrick’s Hall on Saturday night when the St’ Patricks Old Boys’ Cricket Club held a most enjoyable smoke concert. The following toasts were honoured: —“The Pope and the King,” (Proposed by the President, Mr W. Green); “Our Vice Presidents” (Mr G. Corlett, Messrs J. Curry and F. Corry); “Wairarapa Cricket Assn and Kindred Club (Messrs I. A. Hart and G. Peterson—Messrs G. Handcock and W. Stillburn); “Playing Members.” Mr D. B. Curry—Mr W. Green); “Parish Priests,” (Mr R. G. Gleeson—Father Moore); “The Visitors,” (Mr D. Her-bert-Mr J. Lynch); “The Ladies” (Mr B. Howard—Messrs W. Orange and J. McDonald); “The Musicians,” (Mr J. Connors —Messrs P. Hogan and C. Volhein); “The Press.” • Mr W. Brady presented the medals donated to the club to the following winners: —E. Donnelly, best scoring average;. P. Beals, best bowling average; T. Brice, best all-rounder. Items were given by Messrs G. B. Howard, P. Hogan, J. Curry, M. McMullan and C. Volheim. The pianist was Mr J. West. A happy gathering was brought to a conclusion with the singing of “God Save the King.”
