Y.M.C.A.
FAREWELL TO RETIRING SECRETARY.
On Thursday evening next, at 8 p.m., the annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. is to be held in the Association'Hall and the directors hav.e arranged to make the evening the occasion of a public farewell to Mr A. E. Bate, who is leaving Masterton, after nearly fourteen years of service with the Y.M.C.A. The directors extend to all citizens a cordial invitation to be present. Mr Bate's untiring efforts in the interests of all sections of the community are well known, and the esteem in which he is held will undoubtedly be sufficient to warrant a large attendance of citizens on this, the final occasion on which they will be able to express their appreciation. At the conclusion of the annual meeting, there will be a pleasing programme of musical and other items, appropriate addresses and the serving of supper.
