Mrs R. R. Burridge. of Lansdowne, has her sister, Mrs Thomas, of Wellington, as her guest.

Mrs L. Wylie, Casel Street, Masterton, who has been visiting Auckland returned home during the week-end.

Mrs Downes, Christchurch, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs N. J. Bennington, Cornwall Street, Masterton, has returned home. Mrs I. Coutts and Miss B. Coutts, of Wellington, who have been on a holiday in Masterton as the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Coutts, Macara Street, returned home today. Nurse Austin, of the Eketahuna Dental Clinic, has been transferred to Napier. Nurse Wall has been appointed to fill the vacancy and will take over her duties at Eketahuna on April 13.

Mrs F. Robinson, of Eketahuna, has left for Palmerston North, where she will join her sister, Miss L. Gerrand. They will later go to Hawera where they will be the guests of Mr and Mrs Ivan Gerrand, from whose home the marriage of Miss Gerrand and Mr Pat Coomb, of Te Kuiti, will take place on Easter Saturday.

Two sisters who had not seen each other for 41 years met last week. They were Mrs A. Hutchinson, Havelock, Marlborough, who is 88 years old. and Mrs D. Wadsworth, Auckland, who is 84. Mrs Hutchinson, is visiting her daughter, Mrs Gilbert, in Kaiwarra, and Mrs Wadsworth is the guest of her daughter, Mrs R. Banks, Carterton. They met at the home of their neice, Mrs L. Walls, Upper Hutt. Mrs Hutchinson and Mrs Wadsworth are the daughters of Mr John Gibbs (“Soldier Gibbs”), one of the earliest settlers of Wakefield, Nelson, who came to New Zealand in the Will Watch as the personal valet of Captain England. During the visit of the Duke of Gloucester he was introduced to Mrs Hutchinson, and they had a talk about the early days of Marlborough. Both women enjoy very good health, and spent a happy day together reviving memories of their early days.

ENGAGEMENT. GEANGE—NELSON. The engagement is announced of Jean Phyllis, third daughter of Mrs G. S. White and the late Mr Nelson, Penrose, Auckland, to Thomas Edward, eldest son of Mrs and Mr W. S. Geange, Carterton, late ot Haunui.
