CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS RINKS COMPETITION WON BY MASTERTON (“Times-Age” Special.) The champion of champions rink competition was concluded on the Carterton green on Saturday. The weather was fine in the morning but after 1 o’clock a very thick rain set in. The unfinished game between Carterton and Masterton which was played throughout in rain resulted in favour of Masterton by 24 points to 16.

Rain had ceased to fall when the final game between Masterton and Featherston was commenced and it was not until near the end that rain again set in. After a good contest, except for one head when Masterton scored 7, Masterton ran out winners by 24/17. By their unbeaten record, Masterton rink (Messrs. Skeet, Douglas, W. Hendry and Christian) are the champions for 1939.
