MEETING OF MASTERTON ASSOCIATION. SUCCESS OF ANNUAL SHOW. The president, Mr ,P. R. Welch, occupied the chair at the monthly meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association, held last night. There was a good attendance of members. The Union Assurance Company forwarded a donation of £1 Is, which was accepted with thanks. It was resolved to pay the annual subscription of £9 to the Royal Society. After a brief discussion, it was decided to allow the Wairarapa Coursing Club the use of the Solway Showgrounds for the remainder of the season at a rental of £1 a day. The treasurer reported that receipts from July 1 to March 8 amounted to £2984 10s 9d. Expenditure totalled £1703 6s Bd. There was a credit balance of £1349 6s 7d. The show resulted in a profit of £lO7 as compared with £127 last year. The luncheon account showed a loss of £B7 19s lOd as compared with a loss of £76 16s lid last year. Accounts amounting to £1420 2s 2d were passed. The Inter-House Association wrote expressing thanks for the donation of a cup for competition. Two judges at the recent Show, Messrs H. E. Hocken and A. Robottam, returned their judges fees amounting to £7 is. It was decided to write and express thanks for their generous action.

Mr D. S. Warren- forwarded a donation of £1 Is, on behalf of his brother and himself, for a miniature cup. The donation would be continued in future years. The cup could be allocated at the discretion of the association.

A letter was received from an Auckland firm congratulating the association on the success of the Show, making snecial mention of the ring events. After a discussion on Show dates it was decided to send a telegram to the Eastern A. and P. Council protesting against the action of the Western Council in altering show dates. It was stated that if the alterations stood Masterton would have to hold its fixture a week later than usual. Mr Welch was congratulated on securing third prize in the Meat Board’s export lamb competition. Nine new members were elected. Thanks were expressed to the ladies' committee, the Savage Club, St. John Ambulance. Y.M.C.A., Borough Council and all others who had assisted towards the success of the Show.
