Holland; vice-pre-sidents, Mesdames Arch Clark, R. S. Keenan and F. Bladen; hon secretary, Mrs S. Burt. Mrs V. Wakelin, organising secretary from the Wellington Bible House, was the speaker for,the afternoon, and. gave two short talks, the first outlining in some detail the activities of the Society, more especially the work of the colporteurs, and the second indicating the value of the Bible in history and to the individual.

A vocal item given by Miss Houston was ipuch appreciated. Mrs Wakelin expressed her appreciation of the work done in the Featherston district, especially by MrsBurt, who had carried out the duties of secretary so well. Mrs Holland extended a hearty vote of thanks on behalf of all present to the 'speaker. Tea provided and served by the ladies brought the meeting to a happy conclusion. Organised collecting for the funds of the Society will commence shortly, and it is hoped that Featherston residents will give with even more than their usual generosity. Progress of Cubs. At the quarterly meeting of the local Boy Scouts Committee the following report was submitted by the acting Cubmaster, Miss Anne Fellingham:— I am pleased to say that the Pack is progressing very well. At the beginning of the year we started with two Cubs, but at present we have 12 boys. Two of these will be going up to the Scouts shortly. The boys are all very keen workers, and their attendance is quite good. In February six Cubs went up to the Troop and Miss McTaggart conducted the ceremony. The boys were presented with their final Cub service stars, and two of them with their swimmers’ badges. Miss Hayes was also presented with her games instructress’s badge. On Saturday, March 3, the Pack cycled out to the Tauherenikau Racecourse, where the Pack meeting was held. During the afternoon Miss McTaggart paid us a visit and instructed the Pack in some very interesting games.
