TAKING OF MEMEL
Britain’s Valuable Wool Trade Affected DISLOCATION OF TEXTILE EXPORTS (Independent Cable Service.) (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, March 24. European events are directly concerning wool producing countries, owing to the dislocation of textile exports to certain nations. The German acquisition of Memel means that Yorkshire’s valuable wool trade with Lithuania has been brought to a standstill, at least temporarily, as no Yorkshire firm is at present willing to risk shipping to Memel. Business with former Czechoslovakia and Rumania also is impossible.
