CHURCH SERVICES

The Holy Communion will be celebrated tomorrow at St Matthew’s Church at 8 a.m. and at the Kuripuni and Upper Plain Anglican Churches at 9 a.m. Mr V. W. Joblin will be the preacher at St Matthew’s Church at 11 a.m. and the Vicar at 7 p.m. The Rev T. V. Pearson will conduct the evening service at Kuripuni. The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Major Mahaffie. In the morning service the major’s subject will be “A Divine Command,” and in the evening “Understanding the Times,” a timely message for these days. All are heartily invited to these services. A farewell message will be given by Mr A. E. Bate in the Methodist Church on Sunday evening, the service being conducted by the Rev Fred J. Parker. Mr Bate has been appointed one of the youth directors qf the Methodist Church in New Zealand and will take up this special work in the Auckland province, following on a dedication service in Wellington, in April. At the morning service in the Methodist Church, the Rev Fred J. Parker svill speak on the subject, “The Meaning of Infant Baptism,” following the administration of the sacrament of the Holy Baptism. The Kuripuni Methodist Church services will be conducted by the Young Men’s Mission Band in the morning and by Mr C. R. Goudge at night.
