TROPHY WINNERS FOR SEASON.

COURTS TO CLOSE ON SATURDAY.

The official closing of the Memorial Tennis Club’s courts will take place on Saturday. The trophies won will be presented by the president (Mr J. Jamieson). Afternoon tea will be provided and a Yankee tournament will be played during the afternoon. Members and friends are invited to the function. The following are the results of the finals in the club competitions played during the season: — Men’s championship singles! L. Connolly defeated F. Phillip, 7/5, 2/6, 7/5. Men’s championship doubles: J. A. Kennedy and P. L. Person defeated W. Holdgate and E. P. Smith, 8/6, 4/6, 6/0. Ladies’ championship singles: Miss P. Kilminster defeated Miss B. Taylor, 6/3, 6/1.

Ladies’ championship doubles: Misses P. Kilminster and R. Percy defeated Mrs D. A. Hunn and Miss B. Taylor, 6/4, 6/2. Men’s handicap doubles: Messrs J. A. Kennedy and P. L. Person (owe 15) defeated Messrs A. Green and R. Simpson (rec. 3/6),

Ladies’ singles “B” grade: Miss B. Davenport defeated Miss Syron, 6/2, 6/1.
