A flower competition provided much interest and Mrs M. F. King proved the winner.

Mrs Knutson mentioned that as this was the first meeting in the new year it was pleasing for her to mention the excellent work carried out by the past convenor, Mrs W. Williams, and also that of Mrs Rex Porter, the secretary of the Institute. She stated that she had a very pleasant duty to perform and that was to recognise the good services rendered to the Institute by both Mrs Williams and Mrs Porter. The occasion was unique and instead of making a gift to the mothers, .they had decided to. honour the babies through their mqthers. As a tbken of the members’

esteem she had great pleasure in asking both Mrs Williams and Mrs Porter to accept on behalf of their babies a beautiful silver mug each, the mothers being the recipients of shoulder sprays. The recipients heartily thanked members for their kindly thought. A demonstration on the making of a shoulder spray was given and afternoon tea concluded a very enjoyable gathering.
