SOCIAL SECURITY

OBLIGATIONS OF PUBLIC PAMPHLETS BEING ISSUED TO HOUSEHOLDERS. OTHERS LATER FOR BUSINESS MEN AND FARMERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.

The Hon W. Nash states that pamphlets explaining the obligations of members of the public under the Social Security Act were being issued to householders through the Post Office, dealing principally with the obligations of all persons over 16 and furthep pamphlets dealing particularly with the duties of business men and farmers would be issued later. The pamphlets to householders would deal with the problems likely to be met by members* of the public generally and would set cut income detail, duties in respect to registration, coupon books, deductions, social security charge exemptions and other matters of a like nature. While it would be seen that the procedure was closely, akin to that followed under the Employment Promotion Act certain important changes had been made. For example, the shilling in the pound was payable on the wages of all domestic servants, whether the employment was casual or permanent. It was the duty of every person to make himself familiar with his obligations.
