ALLEGED ASSAULT
THE PONSONBY CASE. ACCUSED REMANDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Raymond George McKenzie, aged 39. a slaughterman, appeared before Mr Orr Walker at the S.M.* Court today, charged with having assaulted a young married woman in her kitchen at Ponsoiiby, so as to cause actual bodily harm.
Detective-Sergeant Walsh, in asking for a remand until March 3(1. raid that it was alleged that the young married woman was struck on th'? head wilh a bottle and otherwise badly ill-trealed. Accused had not been in any trouble before but if bail was asked for he would suggest that it be substantial. Counsel applied for bail and the magistrate granted a remand fixing bail at. £l5O.
