MAYOR CONGRATULATED
PRESIDENT OP MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATION. “HONOUR TO TOWN.” At last night's meeting the Borough Council the Deputy-Mayor (Councillor W. White) congratulated the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, on being elected president of the Municipal Association of New Zealand for the fourth year in succession. Mr Jordan said that he regarded his election not only as an honour to himself but also to the town he represented. One of the greatest compensations for the work entailed, was the satisfaction of meeting so many good fellows. The recent conference at Dunedin was one of the best he had ever attended. The hospitality of the Dunedin people was wonderful. After dealing briefly with the principal remits discussed at. the conference, Mr Jordan referred to the visit paid to Masterton by Lord Nuffield, and he congratulated Councillor White and other members of the committee concerned on the manner in which they had arranged the welcome. “I have heard,” he added, “nothing but praise of the show Masterton turned on.”
