YACHTSMAN DROWNED
FALL INTO SEA. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) •' CHRISTCHURCH, March 19. Falling overboard from the yacht Sea Queen at Lyttelton about 4 p.m. yesterday, Clarence Adams, aged 23, Christchurch, was drowned. The Sea Queen was being sailed by Mr J. G. Evans, he and Mr Adams being the only two on board. Mr Evans sent Mr Adams forwards to adjust some gear, but did not see 'him go overboard. He missed Mr Adams after about half a minute, and, looking back, saw him in the water about 50 yards back. Mr Evans put the yacht about, but before he reached Mr Adams the latter had disappeared. A fresh north-easterly breeze was blowing at the time and a moderate sea was running. The police searched for the body in launches yesterday and today without result.
