BIBLE SOCIETY

MASTERTON BRANCHES ENTERTAINED. The representatives of the various Masterton branches of the British and Foreign Bible Society were recently entertained by Mrs J. Macßae at the Midland Hotel, when the organising secretary from Wellington, Mrs Violet Wakelin, gave a short outline of tho work of the Society, whose funds areused in an endeavour to distribute copies of the Scriptures to all peoples, even in the most inaccessible places. A vote of thanks was passed at the close of the meeting to Mrs Macßae whose kindness in arranging this afternoon each year is much appreciated. The annual collection will take place a little later in the year, and.it is hoped that Masterton residents will contribute with even more than their usual generosity.
