A.A. SERVICE
INCALCULABLE BENEFITS.
Though many Automobile Association members who use their cars only in their own localities sometimes fail to appreciate just what the Association offers other than road signs, one has only to make a tour of other parts of New Zealand to learn something of the service which is available to members. A Wairarapa lady motorist recently in the South Island on tour wanted to ship her car from Lyttelton to _ Wellington. But Lyttelton is approximately 10 miles from Christchurch with only a train service between the two places and her car had to be at the ship’s side by 4.30 p.m. so the Automobile Association (Canterbury) was called into service. At no charge the car was collected in Christchurch, driven to Lyttelton and duly put on the ship by an Automobile Association officer. The owner travelled to the port by the 7.10 p.m. train and collected her car on the Wellington wharf next morning. Cheap service for £1 a year subscription, surely!
