PIGEON RACING
MASTERTON CLUB EVENTS. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club flew two young bird races recently, a race from Hunterville and Dannevirke and a flock race from Ohakune. The average times and position in the team race were: —C. J. Douglas, 2 hours 10 minutes 4 seconds 1; W. J. Miller, 2 hours 13 minutes 2G seconds 2; W. Steer, 2 hours 14 minutes 35 seconds 3; T. Hirst, 2 hours 18 minutes 15 seconds 4; Stears and Miller, 2 hours 20 minutes 3 seconds 5; F. Harding, 2 hours 22 minutes 16 seconds 6. The birds from Ohakune, an airline distance of 110 miles, were liberated in fine weather, the first six placings for Club points being: T. Hirst’s Le Tueur, 3 hours 41 minutes 45 seconds 1; C. J. Douglas’s Belgian Ace, 3 hours 41 minutes 59 seconds 2; W. Steer’s Night Pilot, 3 hours 42 minutes 15 seconds 3; C. J. Douglas’s Desert Sun. 3 hours 42 minutes 46 seconds 4; F. Harding’s Coloseptic, 3 hours 51 minutes 53 seconds 5; F. Harding’s Jet Blue, 3 hours 56 minutes 21 seconds 6.
