GRASS & RUBBISH FIRE

OUTBREAK IN OIL COMPANY'S GROUNDS. The Masterton Fire Brigade was called out at 11.50 o’clock this morning to a grass and rubbish fire on the grounds of the Shell Oil Co, Renall Street. Two engines proceeded to the scene but only one remained to deal with the outbreak. It is understood that a quantity of grass and rubbish, which had been stacked in readiness for removal, became ignited as the result of a match having been carelessly thrown down. The brigade soon had the fire extinguished.
