PONGAROA
HORSE SPORTS YESTERDAY. A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Pongaroa horse sports were held in the Domain yesterday. The weather conditions were ideal, and there was a large attendance of spectators. All the events were keenly contested, and the judge in the jumping events, Mr T. Caverhill, of Masterton, had no easy task. , Much praise is due to the secretary, Mr R? Johansen, and an energetic committee, for the manner in which the sports were conducted. A dance held in the evening was well attended, and was kept going merrily until the small hours of the morning to music supplied by Udy’s Orchestra.
