WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT HASTWELLS. (“Times-Age” Special.) ! The annual meeting of the Hastwells Women’s Institute took place on Wednesday. Mrs Elliott presided over a good attendance of members.
The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs A. V. Madsen; vice-presidents, Mesdames C. Seymour, Broadbent, Morris, Misses A. Dick and H. Madsen; secretary, Miss O. Halberg; treasurer, Mrs McKay; press correspondent, Miss A. Dick. „ On behalf of the Institute, Mrs Dick made a presentation of a beautiful salad set to the Retiring president (Mrs Elliott) and shoulder sprays to Miss E. Dick (retiring secretary) and Mrs Caseley (treasurer). Mrs Dick was nominated for the executive committee, and two delegates were nominated to attend the meeting to be held in Woodville in April. Three new members joined up during the afternoon. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs C. Seymour, Mrs Broadbent and Mrs A. Ngatuere.
