NORTH ISLAND COMPETITION.

AWARDS FOR BEST WAIRARAPA PENS.

The judges of the New Zealand Meat Board’s North Island district lamb competition, in addition to awarding prizes for best district display and for best individual pens for the whole of the North Island, also awarded first, second and third places in each district display. The placings for the Wairarapa district display were: — First. —Pen No. 17, P. R. Welch (unplaced alive, third on hooks). Second. —Pen No. 22, Wairarapa Training Farm (first alive, first on hooks).

Third. —Pen No. 18, P. R. Welch (unplaced alive, second on hooks).

It is noteworthy that the 1 . Wairalapa was first in the district display and Mr P. R. Welch was awarded the prize for the best individual pen for the wnole of the North Island.
