CARTERTON VOLUNTEER BRIGADE CONGRATULATED.

MESSAGE FROM MR T. JORDAN.

"Masterton heartily congratulates your fire brigade on its performance. Bravo, volunteers!” This message was sent by Mr T. Jordan, Mayor of Masterton, to the Mayor of Carterton, Mr D. L. Taverner, on the occasion of the Carterton Volunteer Fire Brigade's success at the recent demonstrations in winning the New Zealand championship shield. Mr Jordan has received the following reply from Mr P. A. Cole, Town Clerk. Carterton: “On behalf of the Mayor, Mr D. L. Taverner and burgesses of the borough of Carterton, I am directed to express their very sincere appreciation of your courteous expression of congratulation on the occasion of the success of the Carterton Volunteer Fire Brigade at the recent demonstration at Wanganui. Your message has been conveyed to the Superintendent of the Fire Brigade, who desires me to express the brigade’s thanks for your gratifying felicitations.”
